Very nice May 21 1887 President William McKinley dual signed check written while a member of the House of Representatives for Ohio before being elected President in 1896. McKinley served a full first term as the 25th President of the United States but after winning re-election in 1900 he was gunned down by an assassin in September of 1901. Check made out to "Myself". Signature on front strong 8-9/10 looking but is partly covered by bank cancellation. Strong 8-9/10 on back is unimpaired and beautiful. Check does have a small triangle shaped tear at center which does not disrupt the overall appearance.
