When it comes to baseball records, only a rare few are believed to be unbreakable. Pete Rose’s career 4,256 hits is one of those records. As of this auction, Rose’s record is safe, with the closest active player being Freddie Freeman with 2,431. The “Hit King” has signed this full ticket to the game in which he broke Ty Cobb’s record. Rose got the historic hit in the first inning of the September 11, 1985, game against San Diego at Cincinnati’s Riverfront Stadium. Rose has signed the front of the ticket in sharp blue marker along with “4192” and “9/11/85.”

 

The dual-graded ticket has been encapsulated PSA NM 7 with a PSA/DNA 10 autograph. Of 98 signed examples in the PSA pop, 17 have a higher card grade but the number of perfect autos is likely far fewer.
