Offered here is an awesome Carlos Correa 2016 game-used Marucci bat that is also signed and inscribed by the reigning American League Rookie of the Year. The 6’4” 215 lb. Puerto Rican shortstop whose physical presence and natural talent is reminiscent of a young A-Rod is on pace for another great season as the Houston Astros chases their second straight playoff berth. The bat comes straight from Correa’s personal collection.
The 33.5 inch 32.9 ounce Marucci professional model bat is labeled “Handcrafted for Carlos Correa” and “CCx5 Custom Cut – M” on the mahogany-coated barrel. It has a cupped end and very unique knob designed at an slanted angle for his bottom grip which must be a personal preference for Correa as it is something you just do not see. The “04/15/16” manufacturing date and Correa’s uniform number “1” are stamped on the oddly-shaped knob along with “4” and 1.5” coding for length and weight. There is a long 15” crack running from the black-coated handle to the label with a 2” splintered section at the low end. The barrel displays excellent game use with several ball contact cleat and bat rack marks. There is a light coat of Mota Stick on the lower handle. Also visible near the label is an impression from a weighted batting donut. The circle on the handle identifies the face grain of the bat. This is a mandatory marking per Major League Baseball for all maple bats since January 2009. Correa has signed and inscribed “G/U 2016” on the barrel in shiny 9/10 silver marker.
