Newly acquired New York Yankees starting backstop Brian McCann took the field for the first time as a Bronx Bomber in 2014. The longtime Atlanta Braves slugger made the move to the American League and did not disappoint in his first campaign: 23 home runs and 75 RBI. This lot features McCanns autographed and game-worn New York Yankees home jersey from the teams Spring Training home opener at Legends Field in Tampa on Feb. 27 2014 vs. the Pittsburgh Pirates.
As it turns out McCann did not play in this particular game but was ready to come off the bench if Yankee Skipper Joe Girardi needed him. The Majestic Authentic tagging is sewn on the front left tail with year "2014" size "48" and +2" body flag tags plus the "NEW YORK YANKEES" bar code sticker (0000004057) applied just below. The Yankees trademark NY logo adorns the left breast area in navy blue tackle twill while McCanns uniform number 34 stretches across the back in similar fashion. He has signed the number 4 in silver and added the inscription Game Used.
