Ronaldo Luìs Nazàrio de Lima, otherwise known simply as Ronaldo, is widely considered the greatest pure #9 striker in history. The longtime Brazil National Team star (1994-2011) nicknamed “O Fenômeno” (The Phenomenon) and “R9” twice won the coveted Ballon d’Or (1997 & 2002) and earned FIFA World Player of the Year honors three times, His storied tenures with PSV Eindhoven, FC Barcelona, Inter Milan and Real Madrid (“Galácticos” era) on the club side cemented his status among the all-time greats. The clinical finisher remains Brazil's second all-time leading scorer behind Pelé with 62 goals in 98 caps. In a career full of highlights, Ronaldo's finest hour came in the 2002 FIFA World Cup Final against Germany when his second half brace led Brazil to a 2-0 victory and a record fifth world title.
After a short stint with AC Milan in 2007-08, Ronaldo returned to his homeland to play for Sport Club Corinthians Paulista in São Paolo (2009-11) where he finished his lengthy club career. This 2010/11 Ronaldo Corinthians match worn and autographed jersey from his final professional season at age 34 comes from the personal collection of former Brazilian defender Oscar Bernardi. What makes this shirt extra special is that both Ronaldo and fellow Brazilian legend Roberto Carlos, who also played for Corinthians in 2010/11, have each signed and inscribed it to Oscar.
The white short-sleeved shirt with a crew neck was the team's main home style for the 2010/11 season. The S.C. Corinthians Paulista crest (100th anniversary) is on the left chest with a gold Swoosh logo on the right chest. Kit sponsor “Neo Química” (Brazilian pharma company) appears front and back in large black lettering. Club sponsor “Boazzano” (Brazilian hygiene brand) appears on each sleeve in red letters. Ronaldo’s famous number "9" is pressed on the reverse with “RONALDO" just below, both in gold. “TU ÉS ORGULHO” (You are pride) is labeled in small gold lettering on the rear outer neck. Nike Dri-Fit tagging inside the neck indicates size M. A Nike Authentjc serial numbered label is sewn on the left front tail. Wash instructions are found inside the tail with a "SU101205" manufacturer date flag tag. The unwashed shirt exhibits heavy use with scattered soil stains and an aroma of perspiration still present.
Roberto Carlos, one of the greatest left-backs in history, On the torso of the shirt, has signed the front torso of the shirt with the inscription, "A todos Do Oscar Inn Com Carinho, Roberto Carlos, R.C.3" in black marker. Ronaldo signed adjacent in the same 7-8/10 pen strength. The latest IFFHS poll for the greatest footballers of all time listed Ronaldo Nazàrio sixth behind Messi, Pelé, Maradona, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Cruyff. The Oscar Bernardi Collection
This shirt comes from the personal collection of José Oscar Bernardi, better known as Oscar, who played for the Brazil National Team from 1977 to 1986. Included is a letter of provenance signed by Oscar. Most jerseys in the collection were obtained directly through player swaps after competition. Others were acquired via gifts or trade with footballers in Oscar’s wide network of teammates and friends. At age 71, he still resides in Brazil and is ready for his collection to be appreciated by others in the hobby.
