Lionel Messi burst onto the international stage at the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany as a teenager, wearing #19 — his first number before earning the iconic #10 — and establishing himself as the game's next superstar. This Adidas away store model jersey is the exact style worn by Argentina at that tournament and commemorates Messi at the beginning of his international legacy, with Leo's bold autograph on the back.
The jersey is constructed of Adidas navy blue ClimaCool performance fabric with vertical pinstripes running throughout, sky blue and white curved side inserts, and classic Adidas three-stripe branding on the shoulders in sky blue and white. The two-star AFA crest is embroidered in gold on the right chest. The front bears the white #19 in the bold, multi-line Adidas style used at the 2006 World Cup. The back features "MESSI" above a large #19 in the same style. Messi's signature appears in silver marker on the back and comes with a PSA/DNA LOA.
The jersey comes in terrific, like-new condition. An extraordinary piece documenting the origins of Messi's global legend — his first World Cup number — signed by the GOAT himself.
