Carles Puyol spent his entire professional career at FC Barcelona, captaining the club through some of the most successful years in its history, and is regarded as one of the finest defenders of his generation. This Puyols match worn FC Barcelona home jersey from the 2003/04 La Liga season is constructed in classic Blaugrana vertical stripes in royal blue and red, with dark navy blue mesh panels running along both sides and through the long sleeves for ventilation. The collar is an open ribbed design in navy blue. A gold Nike swoosh is applied at the left chest and the embroidered FCB crest at the right.
A Forum Barcelona 2004 cultural event patch is affixed to the right sleeve—a distinguishing detail found exclusively on kits from this single season, serving as an immediate and reliable dating marker for collectors. The LFP (La Liga) badge also appears on the right sleeve per league regulations. On the reverse, "PUYOL" and his #5 are rendered in yellow with the LFP badge within the top of the numeral.
The jersey shows genuine show use consistent with on-pitch activity, with light soiling visible upon close inspection. Long-sleeve versions of this kit were worn for cooler-evening fixtures and are scarcer in the secondary market than the standard short-sleeves.
Includes LOA from MEARS and letter of provenance from Marcos Teixeira, a longtime Technical Coordinator for the Brazil National Team and Real Madrid; he is also the nephew of former CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation) President Ricardo Teixeira.
