In 2001 the Seattle mariners and their second baseman Bret Boone had a season to remember. The Mariners' payroll ranked 11th in baseball and their greatest stars (Randy Johnson Ken Griffey Jr. and Alex Rodriguez) had all left over the previous three years. Nevertheless the season ended with the Mariners winning their third American League West division title with a record of 116-46. This was an American League record for single-season wins and tied the Major League record set by the Chicago Cubs in 1906. A big reason for the Ms success that season was due to Boones booming bat. He not only batted .331 on the season after collecting 206 hits but he knocked in 141 runs and launched a personal best 37 home runs. This lots offers a trio of outstanding game-used items of Boones that he used during the Mariners 2001 postseason which included the teams American League Divisional Series win over the Cleveland Indians three games to two as well as their four games to one loss at the hands of the New York Yankees in the ALCS. The first piece is Boones game-worn Mariners home jersey which he has signed on the back in black marker just below his tackle twill nameplate: BOONE. The jersey shows slight game usage and boasts the 2001 All-Star Game embroidered patch on its left sleeve (Seattle hosted the Mid-Summer Classic that season) and the celebratory American League 100 Seasons embroidered patch on the right. The proper Russell Athletic manufacturers label can be found on the left front tail of the jersey with the Size 46 100% Polyester tag just to the south. The second piece is Boones pair of game-worn Nike Air cleats which boast six metal spikes per shoe. The black cleats good game usage and include Boones signature in black on the white Nike swoosh on both cleats as well as the inscription: ALCS 01. The final piece to the puzzle comes in the form of Boones game-used and cracked Rawlings Adirondack personal model bat. The 34 bat is littered with contact and bat rack marks throughout and includes plenty of pine tar on the taped bat handle. He signed and inscribed in black marker the bat barrel: 2001 Divisional Series Playoff vs. Cleveland.

Includes Letter of Provenance from the Newport Sports Museum.
