Before Mark McGwire started rewriting the major league record book power numbers he was a college All-American of some renown and a member of the 1984 Olympic Team. At USC he set loads of school and Pac 10 records and wound up as the all-time and single-season home run leader for the Trojans with 54 and 32. He also was sixth all-time in RBI (150) first in slugging percentage (.718) and third in RBI (80). With those kinds of numbers it's hardly surprising he wound up in the USC Hall of Fame which was commemorated with this handsome 5-inch high and 9-inch in diameter crystal bowl awarded in 1999. It rests upon a 7-inch-square black marble base that is 2 inches high. The crystal bowl 5 1/2 inches at its base rest atop the marble stand which has engravings on the front reading: Mark McGwire USC Hall of Fame - Baseball. All elements appear to be intact and essentially as-issued. Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from the Newport Sports Museum. Included with the lot are two black-and-white 8-by-10-inch photos of McGwire batting as a Trojan.
