1998 Houston Comets jersey game worn and signed by guard Cynthia Cooper. Cooper is perhaps the best all-around basketball player ever to play in the WNBA. Playing only 5 seasons in the WNBA all with the Houston Comets she led the team to 4 consecutive WNBA Championships from 1997-2000. Cooper was voted finals MVP in all four of those seasons as well as regular season MVP in 1997 and 1998. Cooper won Olympic gold in Seoul in 1988. After just 5 spectacular seasons in the WNBA she retired and went into college coaching. She currently is head coach for the USC Women's basketball team. Cooper has signed on the white number on the back "Cynthia Cooper #14" in beautiful 9/10 black felt tip pen. Large Comets logo 14 and WNBA logo sewn on front. "14" and "COOPER" sewn on back. Champion and "DESIGNED & TAILORED BY CHAMPION EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE HOUSTON COMETS 1998" tags sewn in front tail. Jersey displays moderate game use.
Includes a letter of provenance from the Newport Sports Museum.
