Ronaldo Luìs Nazàrio de Lima, better known as simply Ronaldo, was a legendary footballer for both club and country. The longtime Brazilian national teamer (1994-2011) dubbed “El Fenomeno” (The Phenomenon) is widely regarded one of the greatest strikers ever. The menacing figure and clinical finisher claimed FIFA World Player of the Year honors three times and twice won the coveted Ballon d’Or (1997 & 2002). His storied tenures with clubs PSV Eindhoven, FC Barcelona, Inter Milan and Real Madrid (“Galácticos” era) earned him several tournament MVPs and Golden Boot awards, cementing his status among the all-time greats. He is Brazil's second all-time leading scorer (trailing only Pelé) with 62 goals in 98 caps for Seleção. In a career full of highlights, Ronaldo's finest hour came in the 2002 FIFA World Cup Final against Germany when he notched two brilliant goals in the second half to lead Brazil to a 2-0 victory and their record fifth world title.
Offered here is a well-worn 1997-98 Ronaldo Inter Milan match jersey from an award-filled season in which the clinical striker earned UEFA Footballer of the Year, UEFA Cup Finals MVP, and Serie A Footballer of the Year for the famed Italian club. The short-sleeved collared shirt, properly tagged within the collar (size XL) comes in Inter’s blue and black vertical striped color scheme. Club sponsor "PIRELLI" and apparel maker Umbro logos adorn the front in white, with "RONALDO" and his famous No. “10” both pressed-on across the upper back also in white. The Inter Milan crest patch and a gold star are centered on the front chest in gold embroidery. "Internazionale" is repeated in lovely calligraphy against the black stripes of the shirt, and "INTER" is sewn in white at the front shirttail. Ronaldo’s large number "10" on the back features blue Umbro logos stamped at the bottom. The shirt displays outstanding use with faded internal laundry tags and evidence of soiling and sweating throughout.
Includes letter of provenance from the son of Brazil’s longtime kitman. Additional LOA from Sports Investors Authentication documenting the jerseys specs and level of usage.
