The Chicago Bulls dynasty came to a glorious end following the 1997-98 season when they completed their second "Three-Peat" of the decade. Led by Michael Jordan who won his fifth league MVP Award and fellow Hall of Famers Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman the Bulls won 62 games during the regular season and defeated the Utah Jazz in the Finals for the second straight year to hoist the Larry O'Brien trophy yet again. Jordan won his sixth Finals MVP award in as many tries and put the finishing touch on his legendary career by sinking his "Final Shot" as a Bull in the closing seconds of Game 6.
Featured here is a gorgeous 1997-98 World Champions 'A' version ring issued to aBulls marketing executive. It is identical in all respects to the playerrings.The Jostens 14-karat gold is coated with an 18-karat gold top and weighs 46 grams. The stunning face depicts a large Larry O'Brien NBA Championship trophy with a 75-point high quality diamond set as the basketball on top. Five smallertrophies--each set with a smaller diamond on top--make up the body of the large trophy to represent the franchise's six titles overall. The perimeter of the face is lined with an additional 64 round-cut diamonds for a grand total of 70 constituting nearly three carats in all. The left shank has “WORLD CHAMPIONS 1998 REPEAT3-PEAT” along with the NBA logo in relief. On the band’s other sideis displayed the name “WELLS-NUNN” above the Bulls logo with “MKTG” at the bottom. Inside theband is stamped "JOSTENS 14K/18K TOP”. The ring comes insize 6.5; a professionaljeweler can easily resize it if necessary. What a fabulous example inpristine condition to commemorate the culmination of the Bulls incredible run in the 90's.
Note: All three Bulls rings listed in this auction wereissued to the same Bulls employee. They were all sold legally to theconsignor several years ago without their presentation boxes.
