Addendum: Catalog lists this jersey as game-issued; it is actually game-worn based on the wear and provenance.

The great Michael Jordan competed his remarkable career with the Chicago Bulls at the conclusion of the 1997-98 NBA season. His Airness not only averaged a league-leading 28.7 points per game but also led his teammates to Chicago’s third straight (and sixth overall) NBA title. He nailed down his final NBA title by leading the Bulls to a four-games-to-two series win over the Western Conference Champion Utah Jazz. Not surprisingly he earned his sixth NBA Finals MVP award too.

This lot features MJ’s game-worn Chicago Bulls home jersey from that unforgettable season. The front of the jersey reads "BULLS” and “23" sewn on the chest area in red on black tackle twill giving way to "JORDAN” and “23" on the reverse. His last name letters measure three inches in height. It should be noted that the positioning drop of the name on back is critical in differentiating game worn jerseys from the "Pro Cut" versions which often are mistaken for gamers. The jersey exhibits light wear with slight puckering in the back numbers. In determining game authenticity of a jersey of this class there is usually an inconsistency or two in the areas of numeral and letter font size positioning yoke cut arm/neck trim tagging etc. All are correct here. Nice Jordan gamer from a reliable source who plucked it following MJ's final season in Chicago.

Provenance: This jersey comes from the personal collection of Bob MacKinnon who enjoyed a 45-year career in basketball at the collegiate and professional ranks. He served as head coach of the Spirits of St. Louis and the Buffalo Braves in the ABA assistant coach with the Boston Celtics and was both head coach and General Manager of the New Jersey Nets. He also served as a scout before officially retiring after the 1997-98 season. He passed away in 2015. Documentation from his nephew.

Includes LOA from MEARS with A5 grade.
