The Chicago Bulls followed up their record-breaking 72-10 campaign with another incredible 69-13 regular-season in 1996-97 to claim their second straight NBA Championship and fifth as a franchise. Michael Jordan Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman again led the way as Phil Jackson's squad breezed through the Eastern Conference playoffs and knocked off the Utah Jazz in the Finals in six games. Jordan won his fifth Finals MVP in five trips. Featured here is a gorgeous 1996-97 World Champions 'A' version ring issued to aBulls marketing executive. It is identical in all respects to the playerrings.
The Jostens 14-karat gold ring weighs 58 grams. The face of the ring features approximately 1.5carats in the shape of the Bulls logo with a large .75-carat princesscut diamond in the center and two marquis-cut diamonds making up theeyes. Dozens of round-cut diamonds (approximately .50 carats total) provide a sparkling background of the ring face. The left shank features the name "WELLS-NUNN" and acasted image of five Larry O’Brien Championship trophies above theletters "MKTG". The right panel reads“WORLD CHAMPIONS - TEAM OF THE DECADE” above a cast image of the UnitedCenter and the official NBA logo and “96-97.” The inside of the ringband is stamped with the Jostens trademark and "14K". The ring comes in size 8; a professionaljeweler can easily resize it if necessary. Simply a stunning example inpristine condition from one of the greatest seasons in NBA history.
Note: All three Bulls rings listed in this auction wereissued to the same Bulls employee. They were all sold legally to theconsignor several years ago without their presentation boxes. The ringshave been professionally cleaned prior to this auction.
