1995 was one of future Hall of Famer Brett Favre's best seasons in the NFL and here is the Green Bay Packers helmet he wore that year autographed by the Ole' Gunslinger himself. The 1995 season marked the first of Favre's run of three straight AP Most Valuable Player awards. He would lead the Packers to seven division championships (1995 1996 1997 2002 2003 2004 & 2007) four NFC Championship appearances(1995 1996 1997 & 2007) two straight Super Bowl appearances (1996 & 1997) and one Super Bowl title (XXXI). He holds the following NFL records: most career touchdown passes most career passing yards most career pass completions most career pass attempts most career interceptions thrown most consecutive starts and most career victories as a starting quarterback. In 1995 Favre threw for 4413 yards - the highest single-season total of his illustrious career.
The Riddell size 'L' helmet has yellow shell and two 'G' Packer logo decals on each side with a green and white stripe down the center front to back. There is an incredible amount of wear throughout the shell from white and black paint transfers on the left side to a rather dark smudge mark in the lower left forehead area. The rear of the shell includes the NFL shield logo and 'AERCO 7 5/8' stickers on the left and the warning label on the right. 'Riddell' is exposed on the front bumper but white tape covers the helmet brand logo on the back bumper. The interior is equipped with its original AF-2 padding a design used for larger than normal crowns and a 7 5/8 certainly qualifies. Favre's number '4' sticker appears inside next to the right earhole. The helmet comes with its two original padded ear flaps green-coated facemask and white chinstrap all perfectly intact. The mask shows less wear than the interior and exterior of the shell but the clips connecting the mask to the shell exhibit age consistent with a helmet that is almost 20 years old. The chinstrap is marked "#4" in black pen and the chin pad shows slight discoloration from sweat. Favre has signed the right side of the shell in 9/10 black marker. Overall helmet comes largely as-issued and problem-free an incredible game-worn piece from one of the grittiest QB's in football history.
