Deion Sanders rivals Bo Jackson as the most decorated two-sport star of the modern era yet only "Prime Time" is in the argument as the greatest to ever play his position in football. When Sanders wasn't hauling down liners in the gap as an All-Star center fielder he was blanketing the #1 wide receivers and returning kicks and punts for touchdowns as the NFL's top cornerback and return man. After five seasons with the Atlanta Falcons Sanders took his talents to San Francisco in 1994 to suit up for the 49ers and made the most of his one season in the City by the Bay. Deion recorded 6 interceptions and returned 3 of those for touchdowns taunting would-be tacklers and high-stepping his way to the end zone each time. Not only was he voted 1st Team All-Pro for the 3rd straight year "Prime Time" was also named AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year for the 1994 season perhaps the best of his Hall of Fame career. His monster contributions on defense helped the 49ers become world champions for the 5th time when they destroyed the Chargers 49-26 in Super Bowl XXIX. The very next season Deion picked up his 2nd ring helping the Cowboys equal the Niners with their 5th Super Bowl.

This Deion Sanders game-worn helmet from his lone 1994 Super Bowl season with the 49ers is a rare specimen in the hobby. Schutt 'AiR' model employs the brand's unique foam cushion and air bladder padding system. The gold shell with red white & black outlined decals on each side shows a fair amount of game use primarily in the form of gashes and scratches on the front. It comes with its original gray-coated facemask which is completely intact; however the chinstrap is missing. "49ERS" is lettered in red across the front bumper with the "AiR" model name stamp on the rear neck padding. The warning label appears on the back of the shell below a piece of white medical tape with "Keep #21" penned in black (most likely added by the Niners' equipment manager). Sanders' number "21" in red dymo tape is stuck inside next to the left earhole. Aside from the non-existent chinstrap this game-used helmet comes problem-free in appropriate game-used condition.

Includes a letter of provenance from the Newport Sports Museum.
