For seven consecutive seasons in the 1990’s Dennis Rodman led the NBA in rebounding. This unprecedented streak has never been equaled. Not by Wilt Chamberlain. Not by Bill Russell. Not by Moses Malone. Wilt came the closest but his longest streak was four straight (twice). “The Worm” began to specialize in his glass-cleaning craft as a Detroit Piston before joining the Spurs and then the Chicago Bulls in 1995-96. This was the year he combined with Michael Jordan Scottie Pippen and company to form arguably the greatest team ever setting a then-record with 72 regular season wins. But unlike the recent 73-9 Golden State Warriors the ’95-96 Bulls took care of business in the NBA Finals. Rodman averaged a league-leading 14.9 boards during the regular season which turned out to be his lowest average during the impressive 7-year run.

Featured here is a pair of Rodman’s game-worn and signed signature model sneakers from the epic 1995-96 championship campaign one that started the Bulls second “three-peat” that decade. The Nike Air Shake N'destruKt mid-tops come in white with black color toning and black outsoles. They have a unique side-lacing system and Velcro strap. There essentially is no tongue as the top section folds over with the strap. Rodman’s logo is emblazoned on each rear heel. The size 14 shoes are appropriately tagged on the interior with Nike sample “Y2-3” labeling to indicate they are player-issued.  They come with their original white laces. The insoles have been removed perhaps because Rodman preferred custom orthotics. The sneakers display solid game use with light scuffing stretching and heel drag. Rodman has signed each shoe in 8/10 black marker with his No. “91” inscribed.
