Retired NBA center Bill Cartwright played for three different teams during his pro career including the New York Knicks (1979-88) the Chicago Bulls (1988-94) and finally the Seattle SuperSonics. This lot features Cartwright's final season game-worn Sonics home jersey from the '94-95 campaign in which he played in just 29 games and averaged 2.4 points and three boards per outing. The size 48 Champion 100% nylon mesh jersey shows excellent game use with even a dried blood stain on the second "S" in "SONICS" across the jersey front. Proper tagging exists on the front left tail including the "DESIGNED & TAILORED 94-95 EXCLUSIVELY FOR SEATTLE SUPERSONICS" tag with "BODY LENGTH +6." His last name "CARTWRIGHT" stretches in a semi-circular fashion across the shoulders in white against the Sonics' green-and-yellow motif. His uniform number "24" appears silk-screened in green outlined in yellow on the front and back. The official NBA embroidered logo patch completes the jersey on the front left shoulder.
Provenance: It comes directly from the personal collection of Coby Karl (sonof longtime NBA coach George Karl) who played in the NBA from 2007-10.He received all items from his collection either straight from theplayer or through his father who coached Cartwright his final season in Seattle.
