For the 1993-94 campaign the Florida Gators men’s basketball team closed the season with a record of 29-8 and a first-place finish in the SEC East with a conference mark of 12-4. Coached by Lon Kruger the pieces fell into place for Florida to have its best season ever at that time. Behind Andrew DeClercq and Dametri Hill the Gators advanced to their first NCAA Final Four following a dramatic overtime victory over UConn. They eventually lost to the Duke Blue Devils in their national semifinal game 70–65.This lot features a 1993-94 Florida Gators NCAA Final Four team ring that was issued to player Greg Williams who was a 6’ 3” freshman guard that season who averaged two points per game. The size 11.5 ring boasts a beautiful blue stone in the center with a Florida “F” on top. Around the center of the ring is specially engraved with “SEC EAST CHAMPIONS” while the outer center area sports raised lettering that reads: “1994 NCAA FINAL FOUR.” One shank shows additional raised lettering that reads: “GATORS 29-8 FLORIDA BASKETBALL” with a basketball in the background amongst an olive branch design. The other shank shows “G. Williams” and “NCAA FINAL FOUR 1994” amongst an olive branch design.
