Former Green Bay Packers legend Brett Favre will no doubt be a first-ballot Hall of Famer when 2016 rolls around. But his start in Green Bay was a slow build as he backed up Don Majkowski until Week 4 of the 1992 regular season when his record consecutive start streak officially began. Twenty-three years later he holds the following NFL records: most career touchdown passes most career passing yards most career pass completions most career pass attempts most career interceptions thrown most consecutive starts and most career victories as a starting quarterback. In 1995 he threw for 4413 yards - the highest single-season total of his illustrious career.

This lot includes a Brett Favre game-worn Packers helmet from the 1992 season his first in Green Bay. Favre went 8-5 as a starter after taking over from Majkowski but the 9-7 Pack just missed the postseason. The next year he led the Packer to another modest 9-7 record this time good enough for their first trip to the playoffs since 1982. After a thrilling 28-24 victory over the Lions in the NFC Wild Card round in which Favre threw 3 TD passes the Pack fell to the eventual Super Bowl champion Dallas Cowboys the following week in spite of a 300-yard game and 2 TD's from the "Ole' Gunslinger." Still that season set in motion Favre's path to super-stardom.

This well-worn headgear shows ample game use with multiple scrapes some peeling and paint transfers throughout from on-field collisions. The Air Power size LARGE helmet is sporting the Packers logo on either side along with the three strips of color tape (two green one white) across the top from front to back. There is a No. '4' Dymo label on the rear of the shell for further confirmation. The green Schutt facemask remains intact although the chin strap is missing. On the Air sticker label inside the interior padding is manufacturer's date of "09-91"; the face mask clips are both dated "92". What an awesome early Favre gamer you just don't find in the hobby!
