This is a handsome jersey from one legendary Detroit sports figure to another this blazing Red Wings Jersey was signed by Hockey Hall of Famer Steve Yzerman and presented to former Pistons coach Chuck Daly. Yzerman was named captain of the Red Wings and continuously served for the next two decades (dressing as captain for more than 1300 games) retiring as the longest-serving captain of any team in North American major league sports history. Once voted to be the most popular athlete in Detroit sports history locals often simply refer to Yzerman as "The Captain." He led the Wings to five first-place regular-season finishes and three Stanley Cup championships (1997 1998 and 2002). The presented jersey from the 1990s has the distinctive Red Wings red-and-white embroidered logo at the front with Yzermans C indicating his captaincy on the left shoulder and an enormous black Sharpie autograph on the right with inscription To Chuck Best Always and adding his No. 19. The 100 percent polyester shirt has the Maska tagging at the collar with his Size 48 hand written and a PSA/DNA authentication hologram affixed for the autograph. The red-and-white embroidered CCM logo appears at the waist and Yzermans name and No. 19 appear on the back in red tackle twill. His No. 19 also appears on each sleeve in white tackle twill sewn to the red highlights portion of the sleeve. The game-issued jersey is in superb condition and reveals no visible alterations of any description.
Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from the Chuck Daly Collection. Also comes with Letter of Provenance from Rich Behar owner of SportsCard Central who acquired many items directly from the Daly estate in 2010.
Includes COA from PSA/DNA (T37526) for autograph and inscription.
