During the 1988 MLB season 24-year-old San Francisco Giantsfirst baseman Will "The Thrill” Clark batted .282 with 29 home runs and a league-leading 109 RBI to finish fifth in the National League MVP balloting. The team posted an overall regular-season record of 83-79 just one year away from making it to the 1989 World Series. This lot features Clark’s game worn home jersey from one of the sweet-swinging lefty's finest seasons. The white garment which reads “GIANTS”across the front in black tackle twill outlined in orange shows light use with minor fraying to the lettering. His uniform number “22” and last name “CLARK” adorns the back of the jersey in similar tackle twill fashion. A total of four labels appear in the interior left front tail: Rawlings manufacturer’s tag (size 44) "88 22” to indicate season and player number and "Set 1 1989" strip tag. The jersey sleeves are trimmed in elastic orange white and black.
