Presented here is the USA Hockey shirt worn by NHL star Tony Granato during the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary. Granato a 13-year NHL veteran who scored 492 points in his career was also a star at the University of Wisconsin/Madison as a collegiate player. This blue mesh jersey has the USA red white and blue embroidered logo patch on the front; nearby is a small CCM manufacturer's label patch that has been covered with a blue strip because of the amateur restrictions concerning Olympians. Granato's No. 21 appears on the back in red white and blue tackle twill and in the same configuration on both sleeves and his name is in red and white tackle twill on a blue nameplate above his number. The Maska label appears on the collar. Granato has signed on the back of the shirt in blue marker atop the white tackle twill "2" of his number. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from Granato and a Letter of Provenance from the Newport Sports Museum Collection.
