ADDENDUM: The heading for this lot differs from the printed catalog. The jersey includes a LOA from the L.A. Kings not Bernie Nichols.

This road black knit gamer by CCM was worn by Bernie Nichols during the 1988-89 NHL season one in which he scored an incredible 150 points including 70 goals a remarkable achievement that was the high point of his distinguished career and the second-best total on his own team that giddy season (think Gretzky and 168 points). Over his 17-year playing career the four-time All-Star would play 1127 games for the Kings New York Rangers Edmonton Oilers New Jersey Devils Chicago Blackhawks and San Jose Sharks scoring 1209 points. He is one of only eight players in NHL history to score 70 goals in one season and one of five to score 150 points. For eight years Nichols was a key offensive talent for the Kings and one of only 13 players in NHL history to record an eight-point game which he did in that same season.

The manufacturer's label has been removed from the collar; the CCM logo patch appears on the outside of the tail on the back. The Los Angeles Kings logo patch is featured on the front in black and white embroidery on silver tackle twill. The knit shirt has gray-and-white highlighted striping on the sleeves and near the waist Nichol's No. 9 is on the back in grey and white tackle twill with his name above in the same configuration on a black nameplate. His No. 9 is featured on both sleeves as well in this instance with a black and silver tackle twill scheme. Nichol's has signed in black Sharpie on the silver section of his number adding his No. 9" inscription. The shirt shows game use including a number of stick marks and many team repairs on the front and sleeves.

Includes a Letter of Authenticity from the Los Angeles Kings plus a Letter of Provenance from the Newport Sports Museum Collection.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
