Los Angeles forward Jimmy Carson wore this gold CCM Ultrafil shirt during the 1987-88 NHL season. Chosen 2nd overall in the 1986 NHL entry draft by the Kings Carson played for 10 seasons scoring 275 goals with a career high of 55 of those goals were netted during the 1987-88 campaign. The knit shirt has the purple and white stripe highlights at the waist and extending across the shoulders to the end of the sleeves. The shirt has the Maska tag at the collar and the embroidered purple-and-white Maska stitching at the back of the tail. The front features the intricately embroidered crown patch; purple and white tackle twill presents his No. 17 on the back; the letters for his name (sewn to a gold nameplate) are in purple tackle twill and his No. 17 on the sleeves is gold and white tackle twill. Carson has signed in black marker along the white stripe element that runs across the shoulders above his nameplate. The shirt reveals stick and slash marks and some unrepaired tears or holes.
Includes a Letter of Authenticity from the Los Angeles Kings as well as a Letter of Provenance from the Newport Sports Museum Collection.
