From the incredible season when Kirk Gibsons 1988 World Series home run stunned the baseball world and beyond comes Hall of Famer Tommy Lasorda's game-worn jersey from that giddy season. In 2009 Lasorda marked his sixth decade in one capacity or another with the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers organization the longest non-continuous (he played one season with the Kansas City Athletics) tenure anyone has had with the team edging Dodger broadcaster Vin Scully by a single season. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame as a manager in 1997. The classic Dodgers script logo is on front with his number 2 in red on the left breast and in blue and white on back. Lasorda appears on the back in blue and white tackle twill lettering. On the right sleeve is the embroidered 1988 World Series patch. Inside the collar is the Rawlings manufacturers tag showing size "48" with an adjacent strip tag embroidered "Set 1 1988." The shirt exhibits appropriately light wear. Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from the Newport Sports Museum.
