Bernie Nicholls established himself among the NHL's elite scorers of the 1980's when he posted three straight 90-point seasons with the Los Angeles Kings in the middle of the decade before busting out with a career year in 1988-89. Over his 17 seasons the 4-time All-Star played 1127 games for the Kings New York Rangers Edmonton Oilers New Jersey Devils Chicago Blackhawks and San Jose Sharks tallying 1209 career points. He played eight seasons with the Kings including the notable 1988-89. Sharing the ice with "The Great One" Dave Taylor and Luc Robitaille Bernie became one of eight players in NHL history with 70 goals and one of five with 150 points in a season. That year he also became one of 13 players in NHL history to record an 8-point game. Here's your chance to bid on the three sticks from the following milestone games of Nicholls' great career: his 8-point game on December 1 1988; his 70th goal of the season on April 20 1989; and his 400th career goal as a member of the New Jersey Devils.

All three gamers are Sher-Wood P.M.P. brand sticks with 'NICHOLLS' and his No. '9' stamped on the black shafts. The 8-point and 70th goal sticks both from the same season are 7030 models with similar original black tape jobs on the blades (black) and handles (white). The 70th goal stick has a 3-foot strip of white tape on one side of the shaft noted "Bernie Nicholls 700th Goal" on black marker. Nicholls has sighed the bottom where the blade and shaft meet in perfect 10/10 silver paint pen. The 400th goal stick is a 9030 model with no tape (appears to have been removed) on the blade and black tape on the handle. Nicholls has signed the bottom across the blade in 9/10 gold paint pen this time adding a personal inscription "To John #400 your friend" next to his autograph. (John Hamilton is the founder and owner of the Newport Sports Museum.). All three sticks show use fitting of NHL game action with all elements intact and problem-free.

Includes a Letter of Provenance from The Newport Sports Museum.
