Presented here is one of the finest 1985 St. Louis Cardinals National League Championship rings you will find in the hobby. It comes directly from the family of former MLB player and General Manager Lee Thomas. The '85 Cards were a dominant, flashy squad with speed at almost every position and highlight reel defensive gems seemingly every game. The key catalyst was "The Wizard", Ozzie Smith, at shortstop along with NL MVP Willie McGee and NL Rookie of the Year Vince Coleman. St. Louis finished with the best record in baseball at 101-61 and defeated the L.A. Dodgers in the NLCS in six games. In the Fall Classic, known as the "I-70 Series" against interstate rival Kansas City, the Cards fell in a heartbreaking 7-game thriller. The infamous series was best remembered by umpire Don Denkinger's bogus "safe" call at first base ("The Call") that led to a crucial Royals victory in Game 6.

Lee Thomas was the St. Louis Cardinals' Director of Player Development under Whitey Herzog during the 1980s. His work directly led to the team's long-term success in the eight years after being appointed. At the end of Thomas’ tenure in 1988, Herzog outlined for a reporter some of his friend’s accomplishments. Most impressive was this: every number-one draft pick from 1980 to 1987 reached the Majors.

Genuine diamonds sit atop a red stone in the St. Louis logo for a masterpiece design. "NATIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPIONS" surrounds the face for a clean look at center. The right shank reads "THOMAS" along with the National League logo and "ST. LOUIS CARDINALS." The left shank features the Cardinals Logo and "1985" and "14th WORLD SERIES." The inner band has been stamped with "JOSTENS 10K" denoting the 10-karat gold material and manufacturer. The ring remains in practically unworn condition. It comes in size 11 ring and weighs 32 grams with its original red ring case with team insignia. A letter from the Thomas family is included.
