The 1985–86 season saw the Edmonton Oilers coming off back-to-back Stanley Cup Championships. Edmonton won the Presidents Trophy by finishing with a league-best 119 points to tie the franchise record set in 1983–84. Led by the superstar combination of Wayne Gretzky and Mark Messier the Oilers were heavy favorites to win their third-straight Stanley Cup but were ultimately upset in the 2nd round by the Calgary Flames.
The offered Titan 'TPM 2020' stick was used by the “Great One” in the course of his record setting 215-point 1985-86 season Gretzky placed a big blue marker autograph with his “99” notation low on the shaft. “W. Gretzky” is stamped on the shaft of this solid and crack-free beauty. Gretzky’s original tape jobs remain on the knob and blade with both showing excellent wear. There is a "Novt 12 1985" date stamp and the "1-002" code is also stamped on the lower shaft. All things considered this simply a picture perfect gamer from the height of Gretzky’s legendary career when he was re-writing the NHL record book in the midst of the Oilers Stanley Cup dynasty.
