In 1982, Wade Boggs broke into the big leagues with the Boston Red Sox where he won five batting titles. He won 8 Silver Sluggers, 2 Gold Gloves, and was selected to 12 straight All-Star teams during his career. He retired 1999 as a member of the exclusive 3,000 hit club. From 1983-99, he used the offered infielder's glove in just about every setting except an official MLB game. We're talking Spring Training, infield practice, ground balls before games, etc., all to preserved his game day gloves from wear and tear over the course of his career.
