Baseball Hall of Famer Rod Carew played 19 seasons in the major leagues splitting his tenure between the Minnesota Twins (12 seasons) and California Angels (seven). A five-time American League batting champ and 1977 A.L. MVP Carew retired following the 1985 MLB season with a career batting mark of .328. This lot features Carew’s game-used and signed Louisville Slugger professional model bat used between 1977 and ’79 a time period in which Carew recorded 557 hits including a career-best 239 base knocks in 1977. The 34.4” bat model #C243” shows light usage with some contact marks on the barrel. The Rod Carew model Louisville Slugger has been signed by the prolific hitter in blue marker just below his engraved name on the barrel. The bat knob shows Carew’s uniform number “29” in black marker. A great gamer from one of the most prolific hitters in MLB history.
