Addendum: MEARS has determined this to be Goodrich's 1975-76 jersey.

It was no coincidence that Gail Goodrich played on both one of the greatest college teams and one of the greatest pro teams ever. cemented his place in basketball history when he was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. At UCLA Goodrich was the star of John Wooden's first NCAA Championship squad in 1963-64 as he led the Bruins to a perfect 30-0 record. At the next level Goodrich was the leading scorer (25.9 ppg) for the 1971-72 Los Angeles Lakers who won a still-standing record of 33 straight games during their epic NBA title run. Presented here is Goodrich's 1975-76 L.A. Lakers game-worn road jersey from his final campaign in purple and gold. It has been examined by MEARS and graded a perfect A10. The 6' 1" point guard averaged 19.5 points and 5.6 assists that season before moving on to the New Orleans Jazz. His number 25 jersey was retired by the Lakers in 1996 and he was inducted into the Naismith Hall of Fame ten years later.

The purple mesh jersey has "LAKERS" across the chest in gold-on-white tackle twill lettering with "GOODRICH" sewn directly across the upper back in the same format. Goodrich's No. "25" appears front and back in white-on-gold tackle twill. The sleeve openings and collar have white and gold elastic trim. The front shirttail has the ever-important "Tiernen - Glendale CA" tagging. The shirt displays outstanding evidence of game use with the type of puckering fraying and light soiling one would expect from such a mid-70's gem. This example is certainly up there with any other Goodrich road gamer offered publicly and it comes directly from the renowned “Lakers Shrine” collection of SCP Auctions President David Kohler.

Letter from MEARS with perfect A10 grade.
