Rare and historically significant 14k gold ring from the notorious 1972 Munich Summer Games. These rings were presented to each of Austria's Olympic gold medalists following the '72 Games as well a select few chosen by the Austrian Olympic Committee for their special contributions. The face of the ring features a raised circular design of blue red and white enamel surrounding the Austrian Olympic Committee logo (eagle holding two weapons) over "’OC" (German abbreviation for Austrian Olympic Committee) and the five interlocking Olympic rings. The bottom reads "XX. OS MUNCHEN" (i.e. XX Olympiad Munich). Inside the band is stamped "585" (legible "58-") which is the hallmark for 14K gold. Size 9. Comes in NM condition and includes its original red presentation box.
