Rivellino was a key architect of Brazil's triumphant 1970 World Cup run and is regarded as one of the most technically skilled midfielders of his generation. The son of Italian immigrants, he was famous for his iconic moustache, bending free kicks, and dribbling skills, perfecting a football move known as the "flip flap" copied by fellow countrymen Romário, Ronaldo, and Ronaldinho in later years. From 1965-78, Rivellino was a staple of the Brazil National Team, earning 92 caps and scoring 26 goals. His match worn and autographed Puma cleats offered here date to the 1972–73 era of his Seleção tenure.

The cleats are constructed in vintage Puma style featuring a black leather upper with a bold yellow Puma Formstripe logo on the lateral and medial sides. The white midsole and multi-stud rubber outsole configuration are consistent with Puma footwear from the period. Both cleats display heavy wear throughout, with the leather upper showing creasing, scuffing, and surface soiling. The plastic studs on the outsoles have worn down considerably from repeated match use. The black laces appear to be replacements. Rivellino has added his distinctive signature in gold marker to the heels of each cleat.

Authentication & Provenance
Letter of Authenticity from MEARS for the jersey. PSA/DNA sticker certs for the autographs. Letter of provenance from the sister of Brazilian footballer Afonso Celso Garcia Reis, better known as Afonsinho, who played for several Brazilian clubs in the 1960’s and ‘70’s (Botafogo, Flamengo, Vasco and Fluminense). He was given this shirt by Rivellino.
