Rivellino was a key architect of Brazil's triumphant 1970 World Cup run and is regarded as one of the most technically skilled midfielders of his generation. The son of Italian immigrants, he was famous for his iconic moustache, bending free kicks, and dribbling skills, perfecting a football move known as the "flip flap" copied by fellow countrymen Romário, Ronaldo, and Ronaldinho in later years. From 1965-78, Rivellino was a Seleção staple, earning 92 caps and scoring 26 goals. His match worn and autographed Brazil National Team jersey offered here dates to the 1972–73 period.

Constructed by Athleta in short-sleeve cotton in the classic home model canary yellow, it has a green ribbed crew collar and matching green ribbed cuffs finishing the sleeves. A black Athleta label is present at the inner neck. The embroidered CBD shield—Confederação Brasileira de Desportos—is applied to the left chest with three green World Cup champion stars. The star player's number "8" is sewn on the reverse in green fabric with natural fraying at the edges consistent with age and repeated laundering. The cotton body shows light soiling, natural yellowing, and subtle fabric stress at the seams—all consistent with a match-worn garment from over a half century ago. Rivellino has signed the front in black pen.

Authentication & Provenance
Letters of Authenticity from MEARS for the jersey and PSA/DNA for the autograph. Letter of provenance from the sister of Brazilian footballer Afonso Celso Garcia Reis, better known as Afonsinho, who played for several Brazilian clubs in the 1960’s and ‘70’s (Botafogo, Flamengo, Vasco and Fluminense). He was given this shirt by Rivellino.
