The Orioles defeated the Cincinnati Reds in five games in the 1970 World Series with the victory marking the club's second World Championship in five years. Utility infielder Chico Salmon was in his second season with the Birds that season. Salmon stepped up as a pinch-hitter in the fifth inning of Game Two of the 1970 World Series and ripped a sharp grounder up the middle for a single to spark a game-winning rally. For Salmon that hit represented his lone World Series at-bat. He retired with a 1.000 batting average in the Fall Classic.

Offered here is Chico Salmon’s 1970 Baltimore Orioles World Series ring. The top of the 10K gold ring manufactured by Jenkins features a single diamond set within a depiction of Memorial Stadium. "Orioles" is lettered in script directly below the diamond. "Baltimore Orioles World Champions" is lettered along the bezel. One shank features the recipient's name ("C. Salmon") his uniform number ("30") the year ("1970") a depiction of an Orioles cap (rendered in enamel) and a depiction of a ball resting in a glove. The other shank features the American League logo partially rendered in enamel which is lettered "1970 Champions." Stamped on the interior are the initials “C.S.” and the manufacturer’s “10K" marking. Ring size is 10 1/4 and weight is 36 grams.
