Rigorous training was part of Carlos Monzns daily regimen throughout his boxing career. As the undisputed World Middleweight Champion for more than seven years (Nov. 1970 to July 77) he successfully defended his title 14 times during that span. This lot includes a training-worn shirt that Monzn wore during a pivotal portion of his career. The size 40 white-and-blue 100% algodon cotton t-shirt has the words MONZON PENAFLOR ARGENTINA emblazoned across the front. Monzon who passed away in 1995 at the age of 52 signed the shirt in black fine-point marker and added the dates of six of his title defenses. A unique piece of sports memorabilia remembering one of the greatest pound-for-pound boxers of all time.
