Presented here is a super rare PSA VG 3 White Variation Full Unused Ticket to Super Bowl I between the Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs played on January 15 1967 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. In June 1966 the NFL and AFL announced a merger resulting initially in the creation of a title game between the two league champions at the end of the '66 season. The Packers launched the Super Bowl series by whipping the AFL champion Chiefs 35-10 behind the passing of Bart Starr the receiving of Max McGee and a key interception by All-Pro safety Willie Wood. Vince Lombardi's repeating NFL champions broke open the game with three second-half touchdowns. Starr completed 16 of 23 passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns and was chosen as the game's Most Valuable Player. The Packers collected $15000 per player and the Chiefs $7500 apiece--the largest single-game shares in the history of team sports at the time.

This $10 Reserved Seat ticket is fairly clean front and back. Corners are sharper than its grade would indicate. A few tiny horizontal creases on the left side and some light brown spotting on the front would seem to account for the VG 3 rating. Only three white fulls have ever been encapsulated by PSA and the other two are just one notch higher at VG-EX 4. According to our research no white fulls have ever been offered at public auction previously making this ticket to the inaugural Super Bowl a remarkably rare find. Latest SMR update for a VG-EX 4 is $8.500.
