The storied history of the Pacific Coast League in the Northwest was about to take yet another turn as the Seattle Angeles played their penultimate season in 1967 with plans underway to bring a major-league expansion team in 1969. Thus this handsome 1967 PCL Angels jersey brings with it considerable historical oomph highlighted by a startling list of former or eventual major leaguers on the roster that ended up in eighth place under manager Chuck Tanner's astute guidance. As was so typical for a Pacific Coast League franchise in the 1960's it featured players headed in opposite directions: names like Burgemeier Johnstone Hendricks Kirkpatrick Pattin Rodriguez and Wright were on their way up to the Bigs while an even larger group including Burdette Coates Cottier Heffner Locke Morton Murphy Ranew Sadowski Spanswick and Torres were getting long in the tooth and headed the other way.

The seven button-down shirt has the Wilson Size 46 manufacturer's label on collar with "1967" embroidered in black stitch on a strip tag on the front tail. "Angels" is across the front in blue on red felt the same configuration of the No. 10 on the back of the shirt. The collar and sleeves are accented by red-and-blue embroidered trim piping; the jersey shows game use and is in problem-free condition without apparent alterations of any description.

This jersey was procured by Tom Giordano who in 1969 managed the Clinton Pilots Seattle's minor league affiliate in the Midwest League. After a very brief playing stint at 2nd base for the Philadelphia Athletics in 1953 Giordano moved on to a coaching managing scouting and front office career in baseball that is now 66 years and counting (began in 1948 in minor leagues). He was Director of Scouting and Player Development for the Baltimore Orioles from 1976-1987 before moving on to similar baseball operations positions with the Cleveland Indians and Texas Rangers. In 2007 Giordano was named East Coast Scout of the Year.

Includes Letter of Authenticity from Tom Giordano.
