This classic flannel Kansas City Athletics road uniform including gray jersey and gray pants was worn by journeyman Moe Drabowsky who pitched for eight teams in his 17-year Major League career. Moe won two World Series rings with the Orioles ('66 & '69) and shifted back and forth from starter to reliever. He wore the Kansas City A's colors 1962-65. His career ERA was a not-too-shabby 3.71 over 1641 innings. A little known fact about Drabowsky is that he still holds the World Series record for relief pitchers by striking out 11 batters in 6 2/3 innings (Game 1 of 1966 World Series).

Both the jersey and pants were manufactured by Tim McAuliffe Inc. The tank-top button-down #25 jersey size 42 is tagged '64 42' outside the shirttail and features '25' and the classic 'A' team logo over the chest with a large '25' on the back all in beautiful green over gold stitching. It shows solid wear and is well-preserved for a flannel of its era. Other than the 2nd button from the top missing and some brown marks by the back numbers the jersey comes essentially as issued in appropriate game-used condition. The size 36 gray pants have '64' sewn in red with '18 36 27' sewn in green inside the waistline. They show heavy wear with a significant team repair patched inside the rear. There are two small rips in the lower right leg. The button from the left back pocket is missing and half the lone front top button remains but it still does its job keeping them fastened. The A's green and gold stripe down each side is still immaculate with no fraying whatsoever. Overall the pants come largely as issued in appropriate game-used condition.

Includes Letter of Authenticity from Tom Giordano who procured this jersey and pants set from Drabowski while working as a coach and scout in the A's organization in the early 1960's.

These items are part of the Tom Giordano collection. Giordano started his 66 year career in organized baseball with the Philadelphia Athletics organization in 1948. After toiling in the minors for a few years the 2nd baseman known as "T-Bone" was called up to the big club at the end of the 1953 season. He batted .175 and hit 2 home runs with 5 RBI in 40 at bats. He returned to the minors as a manager in the Braves and Athletics farm systems from 1956-59 before landing a scouting role with the Kansas City A's in 1960. He would later scout for the Cincinnati Reds Cleveland Indians Seattle Pilots/Milwaukee Brewers (where he also spent one season as a Pilots minor league manager) Montreal Expos and Baltimore Orioles where he served as Director of Scouting from 1976-1987. Since then he has held similar senior executive roles with the Indians and Texas Rangers. In 2007 Giordano was named East Coast Scout of the Year.
