No entertainment event captivates a wider television audience and brings more families and friends together than the Super Bowl. For those fortunate enough to attend their ticket serves as a treasured memento a rite of passage into the upper echelon of society. For serious memorabilia collectors owning a handful of well-preserved Super Bowl tickets is also a rite of passage and it can take decades to build a set of elite stature. Two years ago following Super Bowl 50 we auctioned a complete full ticket run (SB I through L) for $100266 to set a record for any Super Bowl ticket collection. Since that time the market for early PSA-graded low-pop tickets has continued its dramatic rise so much so that Sports Market Report (SMR) can barely keep up with its bluebook valuations.
Now SCP Auctions is offering an even greater set to the market: a complete run of Super Bowl I through LI full tickets that is in fact the highest rated set ever ranking #1 (both current and all-time) in the PSA registry with an overall set rating and GPA of 23.74. The set is registered under ‘GradedTickets’ and has a cumulative SMR value exceeding $150000—significantly higher than the previous record set we sold. The eight biggest hits are:

1973 Super Bowl VII - PSA NM-MT 8 (pop 3 only 1 higher; $3500 SMR)
1978 Super Bowl XII White NM-MT 8 (pop 3 0 higher; $22000 SMR)
Based on recent sales the current market value of this set far exceeds SMR. Last year for example we sold one of the highly coveted 1969 SB III Yellow PSA EX-MT 6 examples for $59098 to set a new auction record for any individual sports ticket. In addition a 1968 SB II Yellow PSA VG-EX 4 example sold for $22050 last June—and that was a full grade lower than the PSA EX 5 included here. Like we said SMR cannot keep up.
Other notables include: 1975 IX White NM-MT 8; 1976 X Mint 9; 1982 XVI NM-MT 8; 1984 XVIII Gem Mint 10; 1985 XIX Mint 9; 1986 XX Silver Mint 9; 1987 XXI Mint 9; and 2006 XL Green Gem Mint 10. Every ticket post-1972 is graded PSA NM-MT 8 or better with a grand total of 25 Gem Mint 10’s. This is every ticket collector’s dream set.
