This plaque was presented to Boston’s Sam Jones upon his being chosen for the 1966 NBA All-Star team. This was the middle of three straight seasons Jones was named to the team. That season he led the Celtics with a 23.5 points per game average and helped lead the team to the last of their eight consecutive NBA Championships. Awarded by the Sporting News the 11¼" x 14" plaque features a gold seal and proclamation laminated to a rich wood base. A rarely encountered All-Star award belonging to the greatest shooting guard in the history of the Celtics franchise.
