Offered here is a playful original Type I photograph of The Beatles early in 1964 during their first ever North American tour. After a first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show in New York City (Feb. 9) the world’s most famous band traveled to Miami for a second appearance (Feb. 16) at the Deauville Hotel. Around 2600 people attended to hear a memorable set that included such hits as "She Loves You" "I Saw Her Standing There" "I Wanna Be Your Man" " From Me To You" and "This Boy." This shot was taken on Miami Beach during the group’s stay.
Pictured (left to right) are Ringo Starr George Harrison and John Lennon jogging along the sand as lucky beachgoers look on. Paul McCartney is off frame. The subjects are in focus and overall quality is excellent. It remains in very good condition even with three corners chipped off. The reverse stamped by UPI with “Miami Beach Beatles run on beach” in pencil shows signs of being taped to an album or scrapbook at some point.
