The 1960 season was one of Mays' finest: a .319 average, 29 home runs, 103 RBI, and his third Gold Glove in what would be a 12-consecutive Gold Glove run. The Sport Magazine Top Performer designation reflected the baseball world's recognition of his complete dominance on both sides of the ball.
