Once he was crowned the king of rock and roll, Elvis Presley expanded his kingdom to include motion pictures as well. Beginning “Love Me Tender” in 1956, Presley reeled off four blockbusters before being drafted into the army. After his discharge in 1960, The King reclaimed his throne with the hit “G.I. Blues.” With its superb contrast and razor-sharp clarity, this stunning portrait was commissioned by Paramount Pictures in 1960 to reintroduce Elvis to the public. Certainly one of the most striking and flattering images of Elvis in his prime. The front of the photo has nice toning and some slight edge wear. The reverse has numerous date stamps and handwritten notations. The photograph measures 8” x 10” and has been encapsulated and graded a Type 1 by PSA.
