After finishing the 1958 season 1–10–1 with no less than five future Hall of Famers in the lineup, the Green Bay Packers needed a strong leader to take control of the ailing franchise. The right man for the job was former New York Giants coach Vince Lombardi. Taking over as the Packers head coach and general manager, Lombardi would lead the Packers to five NFL championships and two Super Bowl titles. This wonderful waist-up portrait of Lombardi was taken during his very first season with Green Bay. The photographer captured the confident grin of a coach who would never have a losing season. The front of the photo has wide white borders, and the reverse has the Lefebvre-Loebke credit stamp and various pencil notations. The photograph measures 8” x 10” and has been encapsulated and graded a Type 1 by PSA.
