Offered here is a remarkable Jules Rimet mini-sized trophy celebrating Brazil's historic first FIFA World Cup title in 1958. The metal trophy replicates the iconic Jules Rimet Cup design, depicting the winged Nike goddess of victory with raised arms atop a flared pedestal in fine detail. These were not souvenirs; they were issued only to Brazil National Team staff members.
The Jules Rimet Trophy designed by French sculptor Abel Lafleur was used through 1970 as the official World Cup trophy. The back of this miniature version has all the Brazilian players' names, including stars Pelé and Garrincha, plus the scores of Brazil's respective games during the 1958 tournament held in Sweden. The sculpture is mounted on a three-tiered wood base and stands just under 11 cm tall. Affixed to the base is a gold tone plaque listing the past World Cup champions and "VI Copa Do Mundo - Brasil - Campeão - Junho-1958."
A nice piece of football history celebrating Pelé's first World Cup title at just 17 years of age, it shows a bit of rusting on the base but the sculpture retains a lovely gold color. We sold one these in 2019 for $1,378 .
