The ace of the Yankees dynasty is captured on this attractive 1957 Topps issue, presented here in sharp PSA NM-MT 8 condition.

The 1957 Topps set holds an important place in hobby history. It was the first Topps release in the modern 2-1/2" by 3-1/2" format, and the first to feature true color photographs rather than painted or tinted artwork. The result is a clean, classic look that has made the issue a favorite among vintage collectors. Card #25 shows Ford as he entered the 1957 season fresh off one of his finest campaigns. In 1956 he went 19-6 and led the American League in ERA, then helped the Yankees reclaim the World Championship from Brooklyn.

“The Chairman of the Board” would go on to post a 236-106 career record. His .690 winning percentage remains the best among modern 200-game winners. He set the all-time record with 10 World Series victories, won the 1961 Cy Young Award, and entered the Hall of Fame in 1974.
