The 1952 Brooklyn Dodgers managed by Chuck Dressen compiled an overall regular season record of 96-56 to win the National League pennant by four and a half games over the runner-up New York Giants. Led by the booming bats of future Hall of Famers Duke Snider Roy Campanella and Jackie Robinson the Dodgers scored the most runs in the N.L. that season. Though they eventually dropped a tough seven-game Fall Classic to the American League Champion New York Yankees the ’52 campaign was a memorable one for “Dem Bums.”
This lot features a 1952 Brooklyn Dodgers National League Champion team-signed official National League (Giles) baseball with 27 signatures. The evenly well-toned and heavily shellacked ball has preserved its ink blue signatures and Spalding manufacturing label very well. Top signatures include Snider Robinson Campanella Carl Erskine Carl Furillo and Andy Pafko. Manager Chuck Dressen's autograph which shares the sweet spot with Reese has been deemed a clubhouse signature by JSA. According to PSA Dressen along with Reese Walker Bridges Loes and King are all clubhouse signed.
