This original action shot taken in Spring Training shows shortstop Pee Wee Reese and second baseman Jackie Robinson honing their fielding skills in an intrasquad game. The sliding player is likely George Shuba who wore the number “8” during the previous season. That this tremendous photo showcases Pee Wee and Jackie working together is significant knowing that it was the Southern-born Reese’s open friendship with Jackie that helped him get through his tremendously trying rookie season. The Type 1 photo shows some edge wear. The reverse has a "Sep 26, 1951" date stamp along with an International News Service credit stamp. Several handwritten notations are also present. The photo has been encapsulated and graded a Type 1 by PSA/DNA.
